Crazies

Ok the crazies have set in….this morning on my way to work I was wondering if it would be possible to fit in training for a fall marathon with the 70.3 at the beginning of August. Then I yelled at myself WHAT!!??!?!? Ok maybe it was actually WTF!?!?!? I've always pretty much maintained that I would/could not do a full marathon or a full ironman and this thought truly came out of nowhere, NOWHERE!!! My mind was just wandering and that is where it went. Scary…at this point I truly have no intentions of checking if this is possible…

Half marathon coming up Sunday. Weather looks like this…

By the way as I write this at 7:40 p.m Friday the temps are around 70! I've been lucky enough not to have any really bad weather for a race I hope to continue this. Temps look fine but I really really hope to stay dry. I'm a little concerned about my Pie in the sky goal. My last tempo run yesterday was rough. I'm hoping the excitement of the race will carry me faster. I believe it's a pretty flat course so with any luck it will be a little easier then the R'n'r in October.

Not to encourage your crazies or anything, but I did RnR Denver after doing Boulder last year! It's actually just about perfect training-wise...I took a couple of weeks to relax, then did a 14, 16, 18, 20, dropback (16?), 22, taper! Just sayin'...it's totally doable. ;-)

You might want to recheck the weather..I think it's going to be nicer than you think! :) Good luck in your race! I can't wait to read all about it!

O-kay, last year I did Boulder 70.3 and then trained for the Denver RNR marathon. I also told myself that I would never do a marathon, but it was just something that happened. Somehow a tiny seed was planted that maybe I COULD do it, and that is all it took.
You could totally do the fall marathon! I think you need to have more faith in your abilities and what you are capable of!

Thanks Jennifer.

LOL!!! Thanks Gaye and Aimee for letting me know it is most certainly possible :) ...I'm going to keep it in the back of my mind...maybe the far reaches even...26.2 miles it still baffles the mind. I'm not sure I enjoyed the RNR 1/2 mary course so I do

Keeping my fingers crossed for a dry race day!

The course is flat. There is one hill and that is at the end and it is overpass. Once you get past that you are golden! You are going to have a great race!

FYI, never say never! :)

My thought is, if you can do a half ironman, you can do a full marathon...

Deb it remains to be seen if I can complete a 70.3 :)
