It was such a beautiful evening that I took the bike out and did an 11ish mile ride. It was pretty good. I actually road the path that I was suppose to run this past weekend and then some which took me over to a path that I had run a couple of times last fall during my DS's soccer practice. It was a little rougher, partly because I've not been on the bike for awhile, but also because it was all gravel. I'm not used to that, but it wasn't to bad once I rode for awhile. Still managed to keep an average of 12 mph.
Ok so you know what it's kind of funny, I was thinking while riding about wanting to do another tri before the end of the season here...and I have two things that are holding me back...no 3 things I think...
1. Money...
2. The ones I'm looking at are farther into September and the water will be getting cold...I'm afraid of wet suits....ok maybe not the suit itself, but getting in and out, how I will look...renting one (not ready to buy) and I don't know what other things
3. Will I look like a full with my bike "Sissy"...it's not a road bike, it's a girls comfort bike, and while I do ok with it, I wonder if I will look really funny....

I am sooo with you about putting on or trying to take off the wetsuit! I love how buoyant I am in the swim with it but I am quite afraid of having to take it off at speed, in public for the first time at my race in three weeks! But I wouldn't worry about the bike and how you look. I think there's a huge range of bikes - mountain bikes and recumbents and who knows what all else. If it works for you (and I think 12 mph on gravel is great!) then don't let what anyone else thinks hold you back!!
