2012 is shaping up.

So I've been giving some thought to the 2012 season as I assume most of you are doing. I have moments of excitement about it, and other days when I'm having a hard time mustering much enthusiasm.

2012 Schedule

April 15th – Platte River ½ - not to sure about this one. It's not my favorite course so I've thought about trying something different but I know a few people doing this one so that is always nice.

May 20 - Community Classic bike ride -Looking forward to this one, I've done it the last 3 years I believe, I just hope the weather is nicer then this year!

June? – Metro broker Sprint - I hear good things about this one and look forward to maybe giving it a try.

June 17th – Denver Century - I wasn't going to do this one this year but they changed the course and I'm excited about that, but not to worry we still get to do Lookout Mtn!

June 23rd – Loveland Lake to Lake - I'm thinking of doing this one and need to make a decision. I hear good things about it and it would be a new venue so that would be great... but I have to admit that it seems strange to me that early registration is $80 but if you want a shirt you have to pay $10 more. Also does seem a little early in the season for an oly distance.

July ? I got nothing...any ideas from you local folk?

August 5th - Boulder 70.3 - yes I want to give this one another a go. I know I can do better and believe it or not, I'm excited to do it again.

August 18th & 19th - Rattlesnake Oly and sprint back to back? This is a maybe but I think it would be fun.

Sept- Crescent Moon - I've only done this race once and I really enjoyed it. Every year I think I will do it again. (I volunteered this year) but seem to run out of money as I get to the end of the season.

Maybe just maybe a fall marathon...I'm not yet committed to this but I keep thinking about it at the very least possibly a 1/2.

I did Lake to Lake this year and really liked it. The bike course is beautiful (and a bit challenging!) and the run is fast and flat. The extra fee for the race shirt is a bit weird, but I paid it and it was a nice shirt. The post-race food is fabulous! I'm also thinking about doing the crazy back-to-back, but I need to wait and see what's going on with whatever job I will hopefully have.

I like your schedule. It looks like there is a lot of variety and they're spaced out well. Good job! You're going to have a great 2012!

Looks busy!! I registered for the Lake to Lake already--I kinda like how they don't make you pay for the shirt :) The course is really beautiful too and fairly mellow.

Still trying to work up the guts to press register for the Boulder 70.3 I'm thinking after Christmas....yikes!

I am catching up on blogs, been offline for the most part for the last few days. Loved the chili recipe and going to incorporate into my chili recipe. :-)

Yay for your plan! I'm not planning anything until I know how Houston turns out.

I do hope I can come watch you at least in that Boulder 70.3.

So I will bet you're my Fort Collins follower? I always thought my brother who is a professor at CO State was the secret FC follower. You would make more sense since he doesn't do blogs.

Welcome on board. BDD, Christi... looks like the old gang...

Agressive schedule you have there... Of course that comes from the one a year wonder (or two if Arnie buys me into an IM)

Cheers!

Sounds like a great schedule so far!! I still have to figure out what I want to do...sigh!
You should do the Denver Rock-n-roll 1/2 or full marathon in Oct. It would be perfect timing!!

Your schedule is looking good. I've never done a century but I have thought about it. I think I would be way better at that than a marathon. How are they?? And have you ever done the Moonlight Classic? That is in July and it seems really fun.
