I did it!!!!!

I got a new bike!!! Can you tell I'm just so excited!!!! I can not wait to get out and ride it! I hit up the Bicycle Village big sale that they have each year and feel like I got a pretty good deal on it. While not top of the line it is a big step up from Sissy.

Now I really enjoyed Sissy the last 2 years but I think this is going to be amazing! Now to decide what to do with Sissy. She is actually in the shop right now getting her annual check up so she will be good as new. So to keep or to sell? Also time to accessorize the new baby....I want to get shoes and pedals but I must stay I'm nervous about the whole clip in thing. I will probably take a bit to get used to the bike and then go from there.

I'm so excited and I just can't hide it
I'm about to lose control and I think I like it

Congratulations!
I remember how excited I was when I purchased my bike a couple of years ago. I am heading to Bicycle Village today with my significant other as he wants to purchase a new bike. It will be a big temptation and I might just have to check out a tri bike or two... just to see.
I hesitated about buying clipless peddles at first but I decided to just go for it. I had been taking spinning classes though so I had some practice with clipping in and out before hand.
Congrats again and enjoy!!!!

Oh, when you do buy shoes and peddles really consider if you want road shoes/peddles or mountain bike shoes/peddles. I have mountain bike peddles and am very happy with them. They are easier to clip in and out of and you can walk and run in your shoes without tearing up the bottom of your shoe (that can happen easily with a road shoes). A friend of mine purchased road shoes without knowing the difference and ended up switching everything out the next season. Just a thought.
Also if you ever take spinning classes, every peddle I have seen on a spin bike is a mountain bike cleat.

I'd have a hard time replacing "Fred" too.....

Enjoy the first ride!

Kathleen thanks for the advice! I will for sure keep it in mind when I get shoes/pedals.

congrats! are you doing training with CWW again this year? I wish there was a group like that out here. there are lots of tri clubs but since I am not working yet I am holding off joining any tri clubs yet. In theback of my mind I keep thinking that maybe someday out here in this area I should start a ladies tri group.

Rebecca I decided I had to skip CWW this year in order to be able to afford the new bike. :) I do plan to do some of the rehearsals. I would love to have a group of people to work out with. It's so nice to have people to ride with and do events. That would be very cool to start a group!

Hey! I LOVED getting your early morning message today, right before I left for the race. :) Thanks!

I love the bike too. It's a beauty!

btw---maybe you, me, and rebecca could do some training together for an impromptu and FREE tri club?
just a thought!
