Weekend workouts continued....

Wow! How about that TdF!!!! They are A-f-ing-mazing!!! I can not believe the way those guys climb those "hills"!!

As usual good weekend of training, not so good weekend of food. Why oh why do I eat so much?

Friday night I swam 2 sets of 30 laps with about minute break in between. All freestyle...can we have a pat on the back ? So a total of 1500 yards

Saturday a nice easy 27 mile ride average pace of 14 but with lots of breaks including lunch. The girl I road with hadn't been on her bike much this year and was struggling some. Made me feel pretty good that I was not only keeping up but surpassing her. She has this cute little body and a great bike and is in good shape. Last year I struggled some to keep up with her.

Today a 4 mile run. 13.10 average pace. Not real great legs a little sore after yesterday and because I didn't want to stop watching the TdF I got out of the house later then I should have. I hadn't eaten just coffee and it was just over 70 degrees...hot...the dog was done at 3.5 he laid down rolled around and did not want to get up. Had to almost drag him the last .5

So as far as my weekly totals I fall short on the running of but the swimming and biking are good. Must get up this week more. I could still make the monthly totals even if I'm short this week. I can't believe the TRi for the Cure is in like 3 weeks! There are so many races I want to do and so little money to do them with! But I'm looking to see if I can afford a few other things in the upcoming months. Although probably not another tri, just rehearsals for that. I'm looking at at a couple 5k/10k's a 50 mile bike ride, a duathlon and maybe another 1/2 marathon. Will have to make some decisions soon.

Oh the joys of running....NOT!!!!

Sagittarius
It's important for you to get out and run around for a little while.

Today's horoscope...do you think 8 miles is enough. :)

Long run this morning was suppose to be 9 miles. I just couldn't do it. Ended up just over 8 with the entire last mile walked, and the other 7 very, very, slow...even for me! I'm not sure what was wrong but from mile one everything just felt hard. I'm not sure that my new shoes are working for long runs. the feel great for shorter runs, but last week I ran with an older pair and things just felt so much better. Or maybe this run just sucked. I so just want to be done with this 1/2. I really think I bit off more then I can chew with this one. Before I head out for these runs, I just have such a nervous stomach it's crazy, I can't imagine what I'm going to be like on the actual day. And I still can't imagine actually going 13.1......that's pretty bad when it's only 2 weeks from tomorrow!

Did a little bike looking again today. Went to the Trek store...oh my....I'm in love I really like both the 7.3 and the 7.5 leaning a little toward the 7.5. I'm going to do some more thinking and keep trying to talk myself out of a new bike.

Plans for tomorrow are to swim. I plan on joining the group although it is not suppose to be nice and we are now swimming in an outdoor pool, so I'm having a bit of trouble with that idea. After the swim is a transition clinic which I'm sure will be helpful. But the weather may just see me swimming at the rec center instead. But I really need to get a swim in. I'm going to commit right here and now to swim at least 2 times next week. I'm going to sit down and plan my week as I seem to do better when I have a plan and am not trying to just fit it in where I can.

Milestones

Lot's of milestones this week! Did my first 9 mile run today. And all in all I was happy with the average pace of 13:54. That includes a bathroom break and walking warm up and cool down. I'm slow, what can I say? Had my highest week ever of 19.3 miles and I'm at 53 miles for the month, highest ever and the most important milestone....a little gross..ok a lot gross, but for the first time ever snot rockets!!! Not something I would want to do with anyone around I don't think but effective! Feeling a little more confident about the 1/2 marathon.

Well Crap!

I just signed up for a 1/2 marathon in May....and a 5k this weekend....for which I have done no training...I guess I just want to get an idea how slow I am so I can use the time for training...for that OMG 1/2 marathon!!! What was I thinking!
